Life IS Perfect (you just don't know it yet)

Recession

The day everything became nothing...
I was standing underneath a streetlight, wishing I had a cigarette.
I can't recall anything unusual about it.

If there was something in the air, if the sky had clouded over, I wasn't aware, I was too bored to care.

No thunder roared.  No lightning cracked.  No missiles rained from the sky.

THIS WAS NO SNEAK ATTACK!

There was just suddenly this awful lack.  Things had changed, that's for sure.

The day everything became nothing... you couldn't put your finger on what had gone wrong.
The alleys were still dirty; the garbage still smelled; there was no panic in the streets;  just a lot of grief in people's faces, in their eyes -- a mixture of horror, and TOTAL SURPRISE!

This was no apocalypse.  No one heard a voice from the sky, there were no miracles at the 7-Eleven,
no one screamed, no one even asked why.  It was just like everything had somehow, quietly died.  SO LET IT DIE!

I can't recall much of what happened next.  I was on my way to visit this woman I knew.
All we had in common was good sex, and now I couldn't even remember her address.

A group of us, just strangers, got together.  And we formed a committee to discuss the problem.
We talked about things like assured mutual destruction,, and emotional responsibility.

I COULDN'T REMEMBER MY NAME!!!!!!

So I called myself Bob......     It's weird being a Bob.  but I'll get used to it.  I'll have to.

The Update

It's been a long time since I've been here.  To be honest, I forgot I had a Blog.  Web 2.0 is what we're calling it these days.  Simply put, it's the users creating the content, instead of some chump serving it to you.  I don't read other people blogs, I don't have time.  I found out there's other things to do besides sitting in front of my computer,  as you can see from my last blog entries, which were a long time ago and pretty nonsensical.

So where do we begin

I've come a long way, I've learned allot, and I continue to learn.  I left Ubisoft some time ago and started a studio in Thailand with some great friends.  We put allot of thinking and allot of love into the studio.  With full support from the people that believe in us, we've managed to create something fresh.  With 10 years of game development experience, I feel my life is becoming a post mortem.  I have not sat by idle and let time pass by oblivious to my surroundings.  I've observed, noted, and planned for when the ball was passed to me...   The ball is in my hands now, and while I know exactly what I want to do to improve and streamline production, I find there's still much to be learned in the world of business.  That's where friends with more experience in this are beyond important.  I have friends directly responsible for setting me up here and a friend at my side on a daily basis that keeps things manageable.  Their help is invaluable.

Spiderman 3 sucked.   Just thought I would throw that out there.

I have a sweet pad now, it is incredible.  I have a huge salt water fish tank.  Since I don't get to dive every day, I brought the ocean into my living room.  Must have.... bright colored fishes....   And screensavers do not cut it, no matter how realistic they have become.  I now finally have the massive kitchen I've always wanted.  I cook every day.  There's an art in cooking not un-similar to my daily workings.  I can now cook some of my favorite Chinese and Thai dishes, and started creating a fusion of the two that I absolutely dig.  It's all about knowing a few important guidelines and then being creative on top of that.

I finished God of War II.  I must give congrats to the team that made this game; it was fun all the way to the end.  We need more games like this, Period.  All game developers can learn from this game.  Though there was nothing really innovative in the game, all the elements in the game (stolen or not) were polished better than anything else.

I've got more to say but once again I'm out of time.

The new and improved

Last post for 2005

Well this is it, my last post of 2005. What a good year, new friends made, fresh knowledge gained, a year to remember forever. So now I'm going to break out the party favors and send the old into history with a BANG.
